Live Virtual Tour: Exploring the Castle District in Budapest
The Buda Castle district is the most popular and visited part of Budapest due to its rich history, amazing architecture, and breathtaking views.
During this live virtual walking tour, I will walk you through the key sites of the Buda Castle hill neighborhood, which offer beautiful panoramas from everywhere to the views of Pest on the other side of the river.
We’ll start at Budapest’s most famous viewpoint, the Fisherman’s Bastion. Next to it, we will admire the iconic Matthias Church and the Holy Trinity Statue, framed by residential buildings.
We will have a lovely walk through the cobble-stoned medieval streets of the castle area, passing by the Alexander Palace, which currently serves as the Presidential Palace. I will show you the Funicular, the little cable car that takes passengers up to the hill, then we will continue our walk to the former Royal Palace with the beautifully renovated Matthias Fountain and the recently rebuilt Riding Hall and Garrison building.
Our tour will end at the Castle Garden which will offer an amazing panorama of the Gellért Hill, the Bridges, and Pest.
